This model no longer receives Google updates, which I knew when I bought it. If that's not important to you then I can recommend it regardless as I used it for a bit as a Chromebook and it works great.
I installed MX Fluxbox and it is a work in progress, as features like touch need tweaking; however, the CPU, RAM, and SSD are all quite sufficient for this distro. If you're interested in replacing the OS then follow online instructions for disabling the OS check. Then, power it off, remove the back cover (two screws are covered with stickers), disconnect the battery, remove the WP (write-protect) screw roughly in the middle of the board, reconnect the battery, and replace the cover. Sign in as a guest and start the terminal. Then type "Shell" and press Enter. Follow the instructions at mrchromebox.tech to reflash. Don't waste your time trying to enable debugging like I did, as it is unnecessary.
Only other notes are the battery life is 85% of original capacity. I was pleased because the machine was built August 2018 and I expected a lot less than that. Finally, there are some noticeable bubbles on the lower right of the screen. They don't interfere with use but I took off one star.
